“

Sometimes, acting is a really private thing that you do for the world….

…I try to live my life in such a way that I don’t have profound regrets. That’s probably why I work so much. I don’t want to feel I missed something important.

“Today Karate Kid II was on AMC (American Movie Classics). Really? I love “Live or Die? Die! Wrong! (Nose Grab), but is it really an American classic? What does a movie have to do to become a classic? I guess being the 2,321 best American movie of all time qualifies. Yes, I do have the list in case you curious. Number 2320? The new Phantom of the Opera movie, with all the singing and stuff.” —

The best a man can get.... → nytimes.com

A great article from your New York Times on the joint where Max and I get our hair cut.

I must admit, spending $60 on a shave and haircut (as it costs in the Lower East Side locale) is a tad ridiculous. However, the real genius of this place is that it truly offers an outlet for men not still in existence. There a few places where a man can get his melon taken good care of, while having intelligent conversation, reading good magazines, and listening to NPR. Even though the hair world has been taken over by Supercuts, getting a good coiff is still one of the great pleasures in life.

“

As an economist, I certainly possessed a healthy degree of trust, trust in the power of economic incentives to bend human behavior toward self-interest—toward short-term self-interest, at any rate, rather than Tocqueville’s “self interest rightly understood.”…

…The truth is most of the individual mistakes boil down to just one: a belief that markets are self-adjusting and that the role of government should be minimal.
